More than 2000 future specialists met with companies at the “Young Pharmacy – Potential of the Future” conference at Saint-Petersburg

More than 2000  students, post-graduates, young researchers, and teachers took part in 22 thematic sections, 5 master-classes and 2 roundtables at the “YOUNG PHARMACY – POTENTIAL OF THE FUTURE” conference at St Petersburg State Chemical and Pharmaceutical University (SPCPU) on April 23 – 24, 2018.

The main goal of the conference was to organize  meetings between future specialists and their potential employers and enhancing  the professional orientation of students and graduates. Business experts from leading pharmaceutical companies gave presentations within the various  thematic sections.

The pharmaceutical company FARMASINTEZ was the general sponsor of the event. Other sponsors and partners were Biocad, R-Pharm, Veropharm, Astra Zeneca, St. Petersburg Pharmacies, Geropharm, Polisan Science & Technology Company, Vertex, Samson-Med, Sartorius, NEVIS Pharmacy network, Novartis, Bosch Rexroth, Ecolab and Millab.

360 presentations were made by students and postgraduates from SPCPU and other educational organizations of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tatarstan.

International round table

An International Roundtable dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Abo Academy University (Finland) united scientists from Finland, Germany, Republika Srpska and the USA.

They discussed the results of joint scientific projects and scientific events held within the International Phytopharmaceutical Platform of SPCPU in addition to opportunities based on the collaboration in the Russian-Finnish Life-Science Center of SPCPU.

Other contributions

One of the most significant events of the conference was  the participation of representatives of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP, USA), who reported on current status and future of clinical and translational pharmacy and pharmacology research.

Further, they discussed the role of Interdisciplinary Training of the Future Pharmaceutical Sciences Workforce.

The University of Applied Sciences JAMK (Finland) presented the “Team Academy” project to the Conference participants.
