For startups and founders: The application round for this year’s Baltic Sea Region Innovation Award (BSR HIA) is now open (deadline 23 March 2025)

The Baltic Sea Region Health Innovation Award (BSR HIA) is an internationally recognized prize for groundbreaking ideas from companies in the health sector. It is presented as part of the National Health Economy Conference, with the support of the Greifswald Technology Centre and organized by BioCon Valley® GmbH.

The competition is open to all start-ups within the Baltic Sea region’s health ecosystem, as well as former partner countries. Its goal is to foster the sustainable commercialization of healthcare innovations in the region while strengthening international networks and scientific collaboration.

After the applicant presentations, three prizes will be awarded:

  • EUR 10,000 (EUR 5,000 in cash and up to EUR 5,000 in non-monetary benefits)
  • EUR 6,000 (EUR 3,000 in cash and up to EUR 3,000 in non-monetary benefits)
  • EUR 2,000 (EUR 1,000 in cash and up to EUR 1,000 in non-monetary benefits)

Non-monetary benefits may include start-up consulting, hands-on coaching, rent subsidies, access to health-related and industry-specific networks, and marketing support.

Applications must be submitted by March 23, 2025, via the application form at www.bsrhia.de.
