Announcing the winners of the #B3C Hackathon

Cancer is a policy priority for Europe, fast becoming N°1 killer, and it is a societal issue with profound human effect on patients, caregivers, family and friends. It also has a profound social and economic impact as it takes people in the prime of their lives, while they are wage earners supporting their families, raising children, building toward their dreams and aspirations in life-impacting with a domino effect on stability and future well-being.

To identify and support the best practices to challenge the cancer crisis in Europe, ScanBalt and Novartis co-organized a hackathon “Building Bridges, Beating Cancer (#B3C)” that focused on innovative solutions which bridge the differences and inequalities in access to treatment in the EU.

Congratulation to the Top Projects Winners!

The aim of the Top Projects pillar of #B3C was to give visibility to executed initiatives that have contributed to breaking barriers towards access to therapies and can serve as inspiration to our sector and beyond.  The aim is to promote valuable solutions and increase the chances for scaling good initiatives across the Region.

All submissions were carefully evaluated to measure projects for generated value and impact, in addition to considering the possibility to scale across regions and borders.

The #B3C Jury selected select three winning projects:
🥇1st Place | DaaS (dioscope as a Service) strives to provide the medical community with direct access to cutting-edge information through a new educational platform to help diagnose and treat patients more safely and effectively.

🥈 2nd Place | Individual Patient Overview (IPO) is a clinical decision support system that collects cancer patient data to ensure it is accessible to clinicians and patients. IPO works to ensure every healthcare professional and patient has access to the best available knowledge, independent of location.

🥉3rd Place | Personalized Reimbursement addresses the gap between lengthy reimbursement negotiations and timely and equal access to novel medicines by harnessing real-world evidence to help inform reimbursement decisions.
