BIOPATTERN: New network of Excellence
6.4 million euro has been granted to a new Network of Excellence to help combat major diseases such as cancer, brain and cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. By developing the new field of biopattern and bioprofile analysis, the BIOPATTERN project will seek to boost individualised healthcare for disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
A bioprofile is a personal ‘fingerprint’ that incorporates a persons past and current medical history, biopatterns, and prognosis.
A biopattern is the basic information that provides clues for diagnosis and treatment, such information could be derived from genomics information and biosignals such as EEG.
BIOPATTERN integrates 31 institutions to tackle, and reduce fragmentation, in the field of biopattern and bioprofile analysis.
