Under this theme more than 1,200 participants convened from 20th to 23rd of August in Copenhagen to attend the 14th global conference for Medical Informatics – MEDINFO 2013. As one of the most prestigious events in the domain of Biomedical and Health Informatics this global conference provides excellent opportunities for high quality scientific exchange as well as networking and meeting with experts from all around the world.

Denmark is recognized as one of the front runners internationally in this domain and has proven to be an excellent place for exchange and debate about new concepts to improve quality across organisational and institutional boarders. One of the “innovations” from Denmark was presented by Søren Grøndahl Buch, business development manager of the Ideas Clinic of the University Hospital Aalborg. Buch presented the concept of the “Ideas Clinic” in a “Care for the World Minisymposium” that was co-organized by the BSHR HealthPort project.

Under the headline “Collaboration, Openness, transparency and trust as prerequisite for high quality, effective and efficient health care” new models for open and user-driven innovation in health care were discussed with experts from different parts of the World.
