Building Open Innovation Platforms in Bioscience.
The first Nordic seminar “Building Open Innovation Platforms in Bioscience”, jointly organized by ScanBalt IPKN and Medicon Valley Academy (MVA), successfully took place in Copenhagen (Denmark), on November 23rd, 2006. The seminar gathered more than 50 participants.
The seminar focused on how European industry and academia can build the critical knowledge management and intellectual property management systems to support successful innovation platforms in bioscience.
The last seminar from the series “Intellectual Property Strategies in Bioscience”, took place on Nov 30th – Dec 1st 2006 in Warsaw (Poland), and was organized by ScanBalt IPKN and the Centre for Innovation, Technology Transfer and Development of the University.
The focus of the seminar was on the role of IP in creating values by using patents, trademarks copyright and other IP system tools in the field of bioscience. The seminar gathered about 40 bioscience researchers, entrepreneurs, and intellectual property (IP) practitioners mainly from Poland.
The discussions in both seminars were very fruitful and the participants were engaged in them in a high degree. In order to proceed with discussions, the ScanBalt IPKN has created a public forum, which can be found on the website: ScanBalt IPKN website

The second academic seminar “IP and Innovation in Bioscience” will take place on March 9th, 2007, in Krakow (Poland).
