The Danish Natural Science Research Council (FNU) hereby invites applications for the Council’s grant types. These grant types may be applied for by the Council’s deadline of 3:00 p.m. on 1 September 2005 or at any times as indicated below. Please refer to the requirements under each grant type. Applications submitted by the deadline of 1 September 2005 must be for research activities due to commence in 2006.

FNU has been granted additional funds in 2005 by the Board of the Danish Councils for
Independent Research for the purpose of funding the Young Researcher’s Award projects (see

Including the award of additional funds for the Young Researcher’s Award and Visionary Research Areas, the council has approx. DKK 234 million at its disposal for 2005, of which some are awarded on the spring 2005 deadline.

The Danish Medical Research Council (FSS), the Danish Research Council for the Humanities
(FKK), the Danish Research Council for Technology and Production Sciences (FTP) and the Danish Social Science Research Council (FSE) have likewise been granted additional funds for Young Researcher’s Award and selected Visionary Research Areas. Please refer to the other councils’ calls for applications for a description of these areas.
