Descartes Prizes for Research and Science Communication: 1 Million Euros

The new call for proposals for the 2005 Descartes Research Prize was published on 15 December 2004 and the closing date is 10 May 2005. Please note that, for the first time this year, appropriate public or private organisations such as research centres, foundations or universities may nominate candidates for the prize. We would like to encourage institutions to participate in this year’s prize, for which a total budget of €1 million has been allocated.

In 2004, a second Descartes Prize was introduced, rewarding excellent science communication actions. The prize is awarded with € 250 000.
