Digital Health Literacy is a core competence for the successful use of digital health products
The H2020 project IC Health was presented at the 7th Baltic Sea Health region meeting by Thomas Karopka, eHealth expert working for BioCon Valley and ScanBalt.
“Electronic health tools provide little value if the intended users lack the skills to effectively engage them. Digital Health Literacy is a core competence for the successful use of digital health products” stressed Thomas Karopa during the discussion.
The participants discussed the importance of setting a digital health literacy agenda for the Baltic Sea Region in order to e.g. promote the efficient self management of diseases and the use of digital tools and devices.
This may be an important contribution to the development of the region.
The 7th Baltic Sea Health region meeting took place 24th of May in Warnemünde during the National Conference on Health Economy 2017.
