International Workshop on Antiviral Compounds, April 2006, Germany
The conference will take place on April 26th to the 29th, 2006, at the Media Docks in the old port of Lübeck, Germany.
This workshop will provide a forum for discussing the latest developments and modern methods used in antiviral drug discovery. It is an event organized and sponsored by the VIZIER project of the European Commission (www.vizier-europe.org).
VIZIER stands for “Comparative Structural Genomics of Viral Enzymes Involved in Replication” and is a large integrated project bringing together experts in virology, structural biology, bioinformatics, drug design, and synthetic chemistry.
The following scientific sessions are planned for the workshop:
-Newly emerging viruses
-Overcoming drug resistance
-Natural-compound screening
-High-throughput screening and chemical libraries
-Antisense and siRNA
-Fragment-based approaches
-Structure-based drug design in silico-screening
-Host proteins as targets
-VIZIER
Other topics
This international workshop will be a unique opportunity for you to present your recent work in antiviral drug discovery, as a poster or an oral contribution.
Please see the workshop website at www.antivirals.biochem.uni-luebeck.de .
This webpage will be continuously updated until the event. An outline of the scientific programme will become available soon. Registration can be done through the webpage; the early-bird deadline is March 13, 2006, and your abstract should be submitted by March 20, 2006.
