DTU is a state-of-the-art Scandinavian university for engineering research and education and ranks in the top list of European technical universities.

DTU is recognized for its strong industry relations, for its focus on technological sustainability and a social and active students’ union. DTU has a vibrant campus that forms an attractive setting for education, research and student life.

DTU is a relatively small, but exclusive university of high standards hosting 6000 students of which 520 are from abroad. With approximately 800 employees involved in research and teaching, one of the DTU hall marks is the impressively low ratio of student per researcher – a fact enabling a frequent and close contact between students and teachers. In 2004, 1027 students graduated from the DTU study programs.

With more than 1000 ISI indexed papers published in 2004 and approximately 600 PhD students DTU is truly a graduate university focusing mainly on research based education.
