PAXIS members awarded for innovation success

PAXIS (pilot action of excellence on innovative start-ups) is funded under FP6 with the aim of supporting and establishing innovative companies across Europe. PAXIS particularly supports the transfer of local and regional innovation excellence.

The ‘Excellence in Innovation Transfer’ award was presented to 6 of the 22 PAXIS regional members in recognition of their success in creating a favourable environment for innovation and founding a high number of start ups.

There are lessons for ScanBalt, and its members, to learn from the key features of each of the award winners strategy:

– Operating innovation practices within a regional context
– Involving local actors, both to inform them and to enable networking
– Study visits involving key local actors
– Exchange of best practices
– Talk less and work more!
