Project on Social Burden of Obesity Funded

LipGene is an EU Sixth Framework Programme Integrated Project (2004-2009) entitled “Diet, genomics and the metabolic syndrome: an integrated nutrition, agro-food, social and economic analysis”.
lipgeNE is a consortium of 25 research laboratories across Europe funded under the Food Quality and Safety Priority of the European Commission Directorate for Research (Contract FOOD-CT-2003-505944).

The project will run from 2004 to 2009 and is being coordinated by Professor Mike Gibney and Dr. Helen Roche of the Institute of Molecular Medicine and Department of Clinical Medicine, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
