Estonia is partner country for the German National Conference on Health Economy, Rostock on 23-24 May 2017. The Estonian delegation will be led by Jaanus Pikani, Tartu Biotechnology Park and a Chairman of ScanBalt fmba.

Estonia is known to be leading in the implementation of digital health solutions, thus serving as best practice model to study and learn from.

As Jaanus Pikani states “Health economy start-ups are using Estonia as testbed in order to enter foreign markets as soon as their products have proven successful with the users.” Solutions like these will be presented at the conference in Rostock.

The topic of digitization will also be discussed at the session “Cross-border data transfer of eHealth data in the Baltic Sea Region” a session prepared by the Baltic Fracture Competence Center and Life Science Nord for the 8th Annual Forum for the Baltic Sea Region Strategy. Jaanus Pikani is at the panel of the session.

A pre-condition for the implementation of digital health is digital health literacy. ScanBalt is partner in the H2020 project IC Health which helps improve the digital health literacy of European citizens.
