LIC is a non-profit organization providing services to enterprises, research institutions, government and business support organisations. Currently provided services and activities include: international innovation transfer; transnational technology transfer; participation in and implementation of EU RTD projects addressing life sciences and information society technology communities; development of regional innovation strategy; advisory consultancy services to absorb EU Structural Funds.

Since 2000, LIC has become a member of European Association for the Transfer of Technologies, Innovation and Industrial Information (TII), Baltic Association of Science/Technology Parks and Innovation Centres (BASTIC) and ScanBalt organisation (in 2005). It also collaborates with European Business and Innovation Centres Network (EBN) and International Association of Science Parks (IASP).
