Successfully managing Intellectual Property (IP) plays an increasingly important role in delivering profitable growth to innovative companies. Patents, copyrights, trademarks and other IP are used to define, control, value and manage intangible assets. Understanding the strategic and commercial aspects of IP has thus become a critical factor in delivering winning strategies and creating economic value.

Two ScanBalt members, Center for Intellectual Property studies (CIP) at Chalmers University of Technology and Göteborg University in Gothenburg and the Scandinavian International Management Institute (SIMI) in Copenhagen have partnered to offer an executive training program – The Business of Intellectual Property.

The program provides IP professionals with the strategic management tools and frameworks they need to address the business challenges of managing intellectual property. Drawing on a combination of world-class faculty and guest executives, the program covers key issues at three stages of intellectual property management i.e.. Extracting value from the IP portfolio; Aligning IP and business strategies; Communicating IP strategy and organizing for delivery.
