Scandinavian biggest research university now a reality
On 1 January, the merger with The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University and The Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences is a reality. The two universities will become faculties under the University of Copenhagen, and will from now on be known as the Faculty of Life Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The two new faculties will form one of Europe’s largest health and life science centres.
From 1 January 2007, the University of Copenhagen has approximately 5 500 research staff members and 37 000 students distributed to eight faculties.
