Submariner Compendium on Innovative and Sustainable Uses of Baltic Marine Resources now open for Consultation

For the first time, the SUBMARINER Compendium provides a comprehensive assessment of the potential for innovative and sustainable uses of Baltic marine resources. The current state of knowledge has been gathered and set against the backdrop of environmental, institutional and regulatory conditions for the following topics:

  • Macroalgae Harvesting & Cultivation
  • Mussel Cultivation
  • Reed Harvesting
  • Large-Scale Microalgae Cultivation
  • Blue Biotechnology
  • Wave Energy
  • Sustainable Fish Aquaculture
  • Combinations with Offshore Wind Parks

Stakeholders from the Baltic Sea Region and beyond are now invited to contribute to the consultation of the SUBMARINER Compendium, which is open until 30 April 2013. Their feedback will not only feed into the final edition of the Compendium to be produced during the summer 2013. It will also influence the SUBMARINER Roadmap, which shall recommend necessary steps to be taken in order to promote beneficial marine uses.

The Compendium and a consultation questionnaire can be found on the SUBMARINER website at:
