Swedish Researchers’ Success in Gaining EU Funding

Swedish researchers are very good at obtaining EU funding. New statistics from EU/FoU show that Sweden lies 7th in Europe for obtaining EU financing. Of the 3.9 billion Euros which the EU made available, approximately 5% (some 180 million Euros) went to Sweden. Ahead of Sweden in the ranking, lie the considerably larger countries of Germany, France, England, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.The data was obtained from 1500 projects uptil October 2004.
