On June 27, 2019 the Lublin Municipality, as the Lublin Medicine Cluster Coordinator, hosted the visit of representatives of the Latvian company Silv EXPO LTD. The visit took place as part of the international project ProVaHealth – Product Validation in Health has been implemented by the Municipality of Lublin.
The purpose of the meeting was to present the results of tests of functional food products. Lublin Medicine Cluster, as one of the 14 Living Laboratories created as part of the project, was responsible for carying out tests of solutions in the scope of functional food. The tests included i.a. design, manufacture and sensory analysis of three products (candies, oil and jellies) based on provitamin paste from conifer extract.
During the meeting, representatives of the Medical University of Lublin and the University of Life Sciences in Lublin – members of the Lublin Medicine Cluster – presented current research topics conducted by universities. Partners discussed potential areas of cooperation with Silv EXPO LTD.
Since the auspicious beginning of cooperation in the ProVaHealth project with Lublin Medicine Cluster, Silv EXPO has had the pleasure of working with professional, communicative and amenable Lublin representative team. The first phase of the project (task negotiations and execution planning) was done very swiftly and precisely. After delivery of the test substance to Lublin, new product development stage had begun, which was successfully concluded with a meeting between all the project’s involved participants in Lublin. For Silv EXPO this project has been very important as it has allowed to carry out novel functional food product development, which was a new segment for the company and we required knowledgable partner support to make the needed steps towards entering into this type of market. The prepared products adhered to our requirements and specification very well. As the result of this project we have benefited greatly from the collaboration not only by tapping into new markets but also acquiring indispensible contacts for future collaboration. Our very special thanks go to the project coordinator Marzena Strok-Sadlo, who has been supportive, helpful and very forthcoming throughout the whole process. We can definitely recommend Lublin Medicine Cluster as a great collaboration partner and are looking forward to working with them in the future as well – (Silv EXPO’s R&D project manager Ilona Vanaga and Member of the Board, Uģis Klētnieks).
