Cooperation agreement on research an innovations signed in Latvia

On the 6th of December Chairman of the Board of JSC Grindeks Valdis Jākobsons and Director of the Biomedical Research and Study Centre of Latvia Zinaīda Šomšteine signed a cooperation agreement on research and innovations.

The cooperation will cover research and innovations to find new pharmaceutical products and that are directed towards usage of biotechnological synthesis methods in the development of active pharmaceutical ingredients and their combinations. Within the frameworks of the agreement development of validation series “Scaling and transfer complex of Biotechnological processes” will be performed.

Director of the Biomedical Research and Study Centre of Latvia Zinaīda Šomšteine pointed, that this cooperation will allow resuming and developing production of perspective biotechnological products in JSC Grindeks that currently is not represented in the company.

“Signing of this agreement with Biomedical Research and Study Centre of Latvia is very significant for our company – it confirms comeback of Grindeks to biotechnologies because many chemical processes can be substituted with environmentally friendly biotechnological processes,” mentions Chairman of the Board JSC Grindeks Valdis Jākobsons.
