Sirpa Jalkanen from BioTurku rewarded in the EU Women Innovators 2016 contest
One of the Faron Pharmaceuticals founders and sources of innovation, Academician of Science Sirpa Jalkanen has been rewarded the second prize in the EU Women Innovators 2016 contest.

A total of nine finalists competed for the EU Prize for Women Innovators 2016. The finalists were selected by a high-level jury consisting of independent experts from business, venture capital, entrepreneurship and academia. The first prize of 100,000 euros went to Dr Susana Sargento from Portugal and the third to Dr Sarah Bourke from Ireland.
With the EU Prize for Women Innovators, the European Commission wants to give public recognition to outstanding women entrepreneurs who brought their innovative ideas to the market. aim is to inspire other women to follow in their footsteps. The award ceremony was held in Brussels.
